AdSense Privacy Policy Requirements

In February 2009, Google established the requirement that all AdSense publishers of a privacy policy on any website using the AdSense product characteristics. Whether showing contextual ads or custom search integration, not having a privacy policy on a site puts the AdSense publisher account at risk of being finished. While this may seem harsh, Google is very serious about protecting privacy and maintaining the confidence of the general public, particularly as different networks are integrated advertising system AdSense.

Adding a privacy policy that complies with the policies of Google AdSense is not hard to do, but there are some specific requirements to include in your policy.

Start with a general privacy policy, as you’ll find in any of the popular commercial sites like Amazon, eBay or Google. The policy should describe what the web server data routine, and any personally identifiable information, such as names and email addresses.

Policy change to meet the following requirements:

* Make sure your best skill your privacy policy complies with applicable laws, including his home state or province and country.

* Mention of third parties such as advertisers, may use cookies or web beacons to track and collect information from visitors. ( “Cookies” are small pieces of information left in the user’s computer when you visit a website, web beacons are small, invisible that are downloaded from a third party site when loading a page.)

* Describe how users can use the browser settings to manage their privacy, and by disabling cookies for specific sites.

Once the appropriate changes to the policy, whether to back the same in all AdSense sites or link them all to a central policy and shared. The privacy policy should be prominently displayed on those sites, too, so that users can easily find them and allay any privacy concerns you may have.

Note that Google does not offer specific examples of privacy policies conform, nor offer specific legal advice on what to place in your policy. All they do is expose your needs, it’s up to you to arrive at sound policy. That’s why I usually start by changing already published another policy and adapt to the requirements of Google. (If you trust a law firm to develop a policy for its use, be sure to pass the requirements for them so they can be incorporated in legal documents they create.)
